de premiere jour de deuxième semaine

the hardest class i am taking feels like French because i feel like there are so many things i don’t know in terms of grammar that everyone else knows. this is an entirely new language to me – it has barely been a year since i started learning/speaking French so all this new material coming all at once is really quite overwhelming. i feel like i’ve been thrown back to day 1 of being at Alliance Française, where Guillaume taught our class and begun by writing his name on the board [at that time i didn't know that it was his name, perhaps even just a random word on the board]. so basically i feel like i am swimming in the class. unlike day one, however, everyone else seems to understand la grammaire de française except me. so this is pretty tough.

other than that, all my classes are lovely [for now]. i can really see how most teachers really take an effort to know your name. also, science labs here are soooo much different from science labs back in Malaysia/Singapore. obviously, Singapore labs were the worst! i’m working on a pretty cool bio lab this semester – one that has something to do with proving a part of the theory of evolution. yeah, pretty cool shit, no?

anyway, that’s all i wanted to say. i’m pretty tired. i had a horrendously long day today – classes from 8.30am to 8.00pm today with breaks for lunch and dinner.
